RE: Carlisle tire woes...ARGH!

I think everyone gets it in their head that if they have a tire failure, it is automatically a defective tire......especially trailer tires. Flats from debris still do occur in the everyday world, and a trailer tire that is flat or going flat is not noticed like a vehicle tire is. It could have easily picked something up and blew apart from being towed at 70 mph while going flat. Replace it and move on...........

RE: Acadia / Bangor Maine

We satyed at Smugglers Den is Southwest Harbor and it was very nice. Like someone else said, take the Island Explorer bus service right out of the CG.

RE: OTTER LK CMGD AND FIREWOOD

We were at Otter Lake a few weeks ago and they had a pretty good sized load of wood you can buy from the CG at a reasonable price. Was about $20 I think for a big pile. Ask at the desk when checking in............

Skip Frontiertown and go down 113 a little farther to Island Resort......

RE: RV Parks Near Bar Harbor Maine

We stayed at Smuggler's Den in Southwest Harbor and used the free buses to get wherever we needed to go. The bus stopped right in the CG.

RE: 06 Dodge CTD air filter?

I use an Amsoil Nanofiber dry drop in filter......works great and increases airflow, without the oily mess of some other replacements.

RE: Why don't slide-out toppers have a drain hole?

Those awnings are not for water, but are for debris and shade. If you bother to ever read the directions or paperwork on them..........

RE: Cabela's - Hamburg, PA Do they allow overnighting??

As others have said, there are several CG's within 15 minutes of there with full hookups....... Pine Hill RV Resort is right off Rt 78 also and you can get on and off the interstate easily.

RE: Forest River Wildcat

Sounds like you guys were looking at Friday built units. Our experience was the exact opposite.........of all the units we looked at, The Wildcat was by far the best for fit and finish. The underbelly of this is the exact same material that our Keystone Outback had under it.

RE: Valve Stems Cracking on new 5ers

Just wanted to add that although metal valve stems would be the best solution, not all the aluminum rims allow fitment of them. My new 'Cat has aluminum rims, and the tire techs couldn't replace the rubber valves with metal, not enough clearance. I just got new rubber ones put back in.

RE: Need inputs on leveling 5er when attached to TV...

Another option for blowing rear tires is that the front tires tend to stand up any road debris as they go over it, then the rear tires come along and get said debris into the tread or sidewall. It may not have any affect whether you are level or not.

RE: Sani-Flush question

I use the same hose for both. Our flush system goes from the outside connection up to a vacuum break and then down to the black tank. Until water learns to defy gravity, I'm not worried about contamination.

RE: Leak Repair Question...Would you settle for this

If you bought from Lerch, take it to Tom Schaeffer's and get it fixed the right way........then tell Lerch that is what you did. They love that........

RE: 5th wheel towing with a GOOSENECK hitch?????

I have also heard that the gooseneck puts more stress on the fiver's frame and voids warranty. If starting with nothing, that is enough reason for me to use a standard fifth wheel hitch.

RE: Smoothing out my ride .....

Look on Ebay for a company selling the Fifth Airborne. I got mine on there and it was great. They offer the absolute lowest price, and reasonable shipping. I think it was Radauto or something like that.......$597 plus $59 shipping.
